This website (“Site”) is owned and operated by Jandal Media Limited, a New Zealand company registered under number 1219769, trading as The PowerApps Club (“we”, “our” or “us”).  It is available at www.PowerAppsClub.co.nz and may be available through other addresses or channels.  Thank you for choosing to be part of our community at PowerAppsClub.co.nz.  We respect your right to privacy and your right to view and update the personal information we hold about you. We are committed to protecting your privacy when you visit our Site or contact us in any way.

When this policy applies

This policy  applies to all information collected through our  Site, mobile applications, social media applications, email exchanges, products  and/or any related services (including training programmes,  newsletters, sales, marketing or events) (collectively, the “Services”).  By using our Services you voluntarily provide us with your personal information and agree that the collection, transfer, storage, processing, disclosure and other uses of your personal information will be as outlined in this policy.  This includes when you register with us, express an interest in the getting information from us, taking part in events with us and otherwise contacting us. New Zealand law governs this policy.

Collecting your personal information

When you access any of our Services you will need to provide us with some or all of the following personal information:

  • Your name,

  • Your email address,

  • Your social media contact information,

  • Your payment details (if applicable).

By using our Services you may provide us with other information, such as data collected from surveys and comments you make on online forums.  When you use them, we may automatically collect certain information from you as well.  This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our  Services  and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

When you use our Services through social media platforms (like facebook), we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, e-mail address, friends list, profile picture as well as other information you choose to make public.  We may also request access to other permissions related to your account, such as friends, check-ins, and likes, and you may choose to grant or deny us access to each individual permission.

Collectively, of all the above is known as your “personal information".

Financial transactions relating to our Site and Services will be handled by our payment services providers from time to time. We will share transaction data with our payment services providers only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing your payments, refunding such payments and dealing with complaints and queries relating to such payments and refunds.

We do not authorise third parties to use or disclose your personal information except for the purpose of providing the service we request from them.

We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this  policy or that are otherwise made clear to you on our Services.  Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third party social media provider. Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.

We implement a variety of measures to keep your personal information secure, including when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information using our Services.

Comments and community contributions

Please note that when you share personal information (for example, by posting comments, contributions or other content to our Services) or otherwise interact with public areas of our services, such personal information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside our Services in perpetuity. If you interact with other users of our Services and register through a social network (such as facebook), your contacts on the social network will see your name, profile photo, and descriptions of your activity. Similarly, other users will be able to view descriptions of your activity, communicate with you within our Services , and view your profile.

We strongly advise that you do not post your email address, home address, phone number or other personal information as part of your community contributions.

We may wish to use the comments you post in our marketing material. If so, we will endeavour to get your permission before copying or quoting your message.

  • Clarify details about your membership or digital access

  • Respond to any enquiries you make

  • Provide any information necessary for the operation and security of our Site and other services

We may also contact you to advise of changes to our terms and conditions, Services or new products or promotions.

All new members will be signed up to automatically receive email marketing communications. You can choose to remove yourself from email marketing communications by following the "unsubscribe" prompt at the bottom of each email.

Our Site may contain links to websites operated by third parties.  Unless expressly stated otherwise, we do not control, endorse or approve, and are not responsible for, the content on those websites.  You should make your own investigations with respect to the suitability of those websites. We have no control over the conduct of the companies or organisations operating those websites and how they may handle your personal information.

How we use cookies

“Cookies” are an alphanumeric identifier that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive – if you allow - so that we can recognise your browser and monitor your use of our Services.  We use cookies to capture and remember certain information, such as your login details for our Services and to save your preferences for when you use our Services in the future.  This helps us to improve your experience when using our Services.

When you access or browse our Services, advertising cookies may be placed on your computer so that we can understand what you are interested in. Our display advertising partners, then enable us to present you with retargeting advertising on other sites based on your previous interaction with us.

We may change this policy by uploading a revised policy onto our Site.  The change will apply from the date that we upload the revised policy. This policy was updated in July 2020.
